Orthodox Conversion Course at Midreshet B'erot Bat Ayin
Midreshet B'erot Bat Ayin's conversion course offers full time learning schedule, personal guidance, an adoptive family, volunteer opportunities and most important the experience of being part of a spiritual religious community in the heart of the Judean Hills. The program is under the supervision of the Chief Rabbinate's Beit Din for conversion in Jerusalem, by whom we are considered to be one of the finest conversion programs in the country. Midreshet B'erot Bat Ayin is known for attracting serious students, and educating them to become committed halacha observant Jews at the highest caliber.

Since the beginning of our program in 1996 we have educated students from USA, Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, France, Holland, Germany, Sweden, Russia, Rumania, China (Kaifeng Jews) and India (B'nei Menashe).

What Does the Program Include?
Conversion students enroll in our regular learning program together with Jewish students both the newly observant and those from orthodox families. Each conversion candidate receives additional tutoring and mentoring and meets separately with Rabbi Yosef Benarroch (also Rabbi of the Sephardic Educational Center in Jerusalem), who will guide her in the conversion process and determine any special needs to prepare her for her conversion at the Beit Din.

Classes include Jewish philosophy (emuna), beginning halacha (Jewish law), Tanach (Bible studies), tefilah (prayer) and Hebrew learning skills. In addition our program includes Jewish mysticism (chassidut), Women in Judaism, herbology, art, music, agriculture and meditative movement (The Jewish answer to Yoga). The program may be adapted to the needs and background of each student.

What are the Requirements to Enroll?
In order to enroll in the conversion course the student needs to have had intensive contact with a Jewish community for one year. The conversion candidate needs several letters of recommendation from Rabbis and others affirming her prior involvement with a Jewish community. Among the letters of recommendation, at least two letters must be from orthodox rabbis who can testify to the sincerity of the student's commitment to Judaism. With these letters the conversion candidate will be able to open a conversion file with the Chief Rabbinate of conversion in Jerusalem and obtain a conversion visa. The conversion visa --as opposed to the student visa- will also allow her to work.

What is the Aim of the Program?
With Hashem's help the conversion course offered at Midreshet B'erot Bat Ayin will enable serious conversion candidates to go through an Orthodox conversion process recognized by the strictest authorities in Israel. Our program allows women to be part of a serious Torah environment and study in a natural and enjoyable learning atmosphere. With Hashem's help they will be guided in the ways of Jewish life all the way to the Mikveh and beyond.
